MSI
Computer Corporation, one of the information technology industry's
leading manufacturers of personal computer hardware products
and solutions, introduced today two new motherboard platforms,
the K8T Master1 and K8T Master2, utilizing AMD's new 64-bit
Opteron™ processor for server and workstation applications.
The K8T Master2 designed for dual Opteron™ and K8T Master1
for single Opteron™ applications respectively. With the K8T
Master Series, MSI addresses the needs of high-performance
and stable platforms for workstation and server markets.
In
addition to providing the high performance and stability features
required for workstation and server market applications, the
K8T Master series has the specs necessary to allow overall
I/O performance to be greatly enhanced. For example, these
K8T Master series boards utilize a precision 6-layer board
circuit design for optimal signal and circuit separation according
to property frequency; a feature which greatly enhances the
stability and performance of workstation products. Furthermore,
the K8T Master series also supports Gigabit LAN chip, AGP
Pro 8X, and 4 sets of PCI (32-bit/33MHz) slots; and the design
utilizing 4 sets of DDR333 DIMMs can also support up to 8GB
of Registered ECC memories.
These
K8T Master series platforms also utilize MSI's exclusive CoreCell™
chip and technology which provides for less noise, more power-saving
and longer component life by using the special CoreCenter™
software interface to automatically or manually adjust the
best performance paramaters such as Dynamic Overclock Technology
(DOT) as needed.
Additionally, these platforms also support
MSI's newly developed µStar® Server Management Solution with
iConsole. Based on the Intelligent Platform Management Interface
(IPMI)v1.5 specification, µStar® Server Managenent with iConsole
is a client/server management tool that allows system administrators
to remotely monitor, control and manage server functions.
These new functions combined with the high peformance and
stability of the MSI K8T Master series makes MSI the logical
choice for new-generation workstations.
