here can be several reasons why your 3D performance is not at its best level expected. For a good indication of how your system compares to others with similar PC configuration, download the 3D benchmark, 3DMark 2001, from the Mad Onion Web site at www.MadOnion.com. It offers an online results browser that compares your system score to other users with similar configuration. If your score falls below the average compared to others who have a similarly configured PC, check the following troubleshooting tips:Make sure you are running the latest display drivers for your NVIDIA- based graphics card. Drivers are available from: MSI Driver Support. You should also update the AGP drivers for your PC's motherboard. Please verify the chipset make and model your motherboard is using by reading your motherboard documentation, or by directly contacting the motherboard manufacturer. Then, download the appropriate drivers from one of the following Web sites, depending on the chipset manufacturer: VIA Chipset; AMD Chipset; ALI Chipset; SIS Chipset; Intel Chipset. If you are upgrading a graphics card, then make sure the drivers from your previous graphics card are properly uninstalled. Please contact the manufacturer of your previous graphics card to find out how to properly uninstall their drivers. If the drivers are not properly uninstalled, they can conflict with each other and thus slow down the performance of your graphics card. Be sure that there are no programs running in the background that can affect the performance of your system. Virus protection programs, Instant Messengers and system restore/crash guard utilities can often lead to slower 3D performance. Disable this utility and any other programs before you run any 3D-intensive programs. Also, check that your system meets the minimum system requirements for the application you wish to run. If your system does not have enough free memory, then it can affect the performance of your system. |
